AutoBit Tips Vehicle coding

How long does it take to code a vehicle and what is needed before the appointment?

A simple change to a supported setting can be quick, while activating multimedia, programming modules, or operating after replacing a part requires more preparation and testing.

What does the duration depend on?

The model, year, installed equipment, software version, number of modules that are changed and whether the vehicle already has communication errors are important. Coding one supported option is not the same as programming a replacement module.

Checking support saves time

Before the appointment, it should be determined whether the vehicle supports the desired function in terms of hardware and software. Two of the same bodies can have different multimedia, sensors or modules. That is why the possibility cannot be reliably confirmed by the model name alone.

Backup and test after work

In the case of more serious procedures, the existing configuration is preserved when possible. After the modification, the function is checked, errors are read and it is confirmed that the connected systems are working properly. A stable power supply to the vehicle during the process is also important.

What do you want to send for a deal?

Submit the model, year, the last seven characters of the chassis number, and the function you want to activate or change. A photo of the multimedia version or module tag may be required for final confirmation.

An overview of all related interventions is available on the page on the Vehicle coding.

Do you want a check for your vehicle?

Submit the model, year and a brief description of the problem. We will answer what needs to be checked before the appointment.
