Renault UCH module: symptoms of central electronics malfunction
The UCH is Renault's central body unit. It is connected to a key or card, central lock, lighting, wipers and a number of convenience functions.
Symptoms of a possible UCH problem
The vehicle may occasionally fail to recognize the card or key, the central lock may operate incorrectly, and the lights or wipers may behave unpredictably. Communication errors with other modules or battery discharge are also possible.
Checking the power supply and humidity
Before opening or replacing the module, the battery, charging, fuses, grounds and installation are checked. Moisture in the cabin or oxidized connectors can create the same symptoms and must be addressed to prevent the problem from happening again.
Why is a used UCH not an easy replacement?
The UCH may contain the vehicle configuration and immobilizer-related data. It's often not enough to just plug it in. It is necessary to check the part number, compatibility and the possibility of customizing the data.
